In order to answer the increasing awareness of the global environmental issues as a responsible entity, Miyano Machinery, Inc. created its environmental management system for the main office, Miyano Headquarters, Kitakami factory, and Miyano Service Engineering, Inc., a relevant operating business within the facility, and was awarded ISO14001:2004 Management System Certificate for Environmental System.

Using its environmental management system, Miyano plans to strengthen its environmental initiatives, and will continue to contribute to the development of a sustainable society.

Our company is giving the environmental burden by consuming energy and raw material, and by producing waste through our daily operation of development, manufacturing, sales, and the service of machine tools. We are committed to continuous decrease of the environmental burden with our basic Philosophy concerning the environmental protection, and will promote the following environmental activities:

1. We will perform continuous improvement by establishing and operating an environmental management system to decrease the environmental influence caused by our daily business operation.
2. We will observe environmental regulations established by local and national governments, requests concerning the environment from outside the company, and the standard set by ourselves.
3. The following activities are promoted as primary measures for the environmental reform:
   (1) Available use and premeditated reduction of energy used in our company such as electric powers and oil fuels.
   (2) Promotion of premeditated reduction and recycling of waste generated from our company.
   (3) Thorough prevention of environmental pollution, which may cause environmental accidents, by managing causes for outflow of oil and generation of smoke.
   (4) Development of environmental products, which help save resources and energy relating to our existing products.
   (5) Promotion of environmental proposals relating to our existing services.
4. We will periodically review our policies, objectives, and targets, and will proactively promote environmental reforms.
5. We will improve our consideration to the significance of the environmental protection by environmental education and in-house publicity campaign. We will also publicize our environmental policy to the outside the company.
